I went with my friend to the Minnesota State Fair yesterday. He used to serve in the military and yesterday was “Military Appreciation Day” at the state fair. I told him that I appreciate him for serving our country! I have the utmost respect for our men in uniforms, especially our military personnel, probably because my father used to serve in the Army as well. I’m also turned on by men in uniforms, especially in the white Navy uniform, like this photo of Richard Gere in “An Officer and a Gentleman“. The combination of the ocean, the battleship, and the trumpet & saxophone that the Navy Band plays is so tantalizingβ¦
I saw on their website that they have a new food this year called The βKerala Fried Chicken Kati Rollβ, and it looked so yummy! My friend and I were looking all over for it. We decided to visit the “Haunted House” first so that I won’t throw up my food afterwards. The “Haunted House” was so much fun! I held onto my friend’s arm so tightly throughout the entire time. I was screaming, shrieking, jumping up & down, and grabbing tightly onto his arm for the entire time! He showed me a photo this morning of the purple bruises on his biceps. He said that I have the strength of the Hulk that I am unaware of. Incidentally, my husband also said that I am usually the sweetest person on Earth, but when I get angry, then I turn into the Hulk. I guess that goes with when I’m scared as well. I told my friend that I am so sorry, but he was pretty cool about it, especially since he’s the one that enjoys having pain inflicted upon him. He told me to “feel free to bruise me anytime”, hehehe! π
I like setting up tough challenges for him, especially since he used to serve in the army. I previously challenged him to work up to holding a plank for an hour a day, but we eventually stopped at the 20-minute mark. He bought a bucket of cookies yesterday, and I challenged him to get the “$2 all you can drink milk”, and drink 9 cups of milk with two cookies for each cup. That comes up to a total of 18 cookies and 9 cups of milk, and this is already after him having a full breakfast, full lunch and a large glass of Caribbean smoothie. I ordered a glass of Paradise Colada for myself, which is a non-alcoholic version of the PiΓ±a Colada. It tasted so delicious, oh my gosh!!! π€€
We had to stop after he had 4 and 1/2 cups of milk, and 6 cookies, as he could no longer hold it in, and wanted to throw up. He told me that my challenges are impossible to meet and that only Superman can do it. I told him that since he was unable to complete this challenge, that I will have to think of a new challenge for him now. π
I wanted to visit their cute llamas π¦, but the “Horse section” was closed when we got there, probably because some of the animals got agitated, so they had to shut down the exhibition for the rest of the day. I also bought myself a cute little lucky bamboo shoot π to place on my desk and bring me good luck.
We went to the “Health Fair” exhibition and got our Blood Tying done. He is the universal donor, and I am the universal recipient. I told him that I now know who to call if I ever need blood. I had so much fun yesterday, can’t wait to do it again next year!
I love the Paradise Colada drink. Bacardi used to be one of my favorite alcohol drinks back in dental school. Do you like PiΓ±a Colada’s? If you do, then I’m the love that you’ve looked for. Write to me and escape! π
Escape ~ The PiΓ±a Colada Song
~ Rupert Holmes
I was tired of my lady
We’d been together too long
Like a worn out recording
Of a favorite song
So while she lay there sleepin’
I read the paper in bed
And in the personal columns
There was this letter I read
If you like piΓ±a coladas
And gettin’ caught in the rain
If you’re not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you like makin’ love at midnight
In the dunes on the cape
Then I’m the love that you’ve looked for
Write to me and escape
I didn’t think about my lady
I know that sounds kinda mean
But me and my old lady
Had fallen into the same old dull routine
So I wrote to the paper
Took out a personal ad
And though I’m nobody’s poet
I thought it wasn’t half bad
Yes, I like piΓ±a coladas
And gettin’ caught in the rain
I’m not much into health food
I am into champagne
I’ve got to meet you by tomorrow noon
And cut through all this red tape
At a bar called O’Malley’s
Where we’ll plan our escape
So I waited with high hopes
And she walked in the place
I knew her smile in an instant
I knew the curve of her face
It was my own lovely lady
And she said, “Oh, it’s you”
Then we laughed for a moment
And I said, “I never knew”
“That you like piΓ±a coladas
And gettin’ caught in the rain
And the feel of the ocean
And the taste of champagne
If you like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the cape
You’re the lady I’ve looked for
Come with me and escape”
If you like piΓ±a coladas
And gettin’ caught in the rain
If you’re not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the cape
I’m the love that you’ve looked for
Write to me and escape
Yes, I like piΓ±a coladas
And gettin’ caught in the rain
I’m not much into health food
I am into champagne
I’ve got to meet you by tomorrow noon
And cut through all this red tape
At a bar called O’Malley’s
