🌷 8 Weeks of Self-Care to Feeling Healthier and Happier! – Week 1 πŸ’

  • πŸ’ Week 1 – Mindset:
  • This is the most important tool to have in your mind, body and spirit self-care toolkit – having a healthy mindset.
  • When you have a healthy mindset and are able to see yourself becoming more healthy and happy, then it will be a lot easier for you to perform the essential daily self-care practices.
  • We will start off with practicing some simple self-care daily practices for your mind, body and spirit.
  • We will start adding more slowly week by week and you can pick and choose the ones you like, and decide whether you would like to practice them daily, weekly or even monthly.
  • By the end of the 8th week (the Integration week), you would have compiled your own self-care mind, body and spirit toolkit.
  • It is recommended that you practice all of the mind, body and spirit tools in this first week every single day as this will set you up for success in becoming healthier and happier each and every day!
  • 🧠 Mind: Be gentle with yourself
  • Affirmation: I AM ENOUGH!
  • Action: Wearing a “Happy Bracelet”! There are things in life that may make you feel happy. However, choosing to be Happy is an intentional act. Starting from today, intentionally choose to feel Happy!
  • You are exactly where you are supposed to be right now in your healing journey.
  • Most too often, we beat ourselves up for not being good enough, successful enough, or rich enough, etc. This brings on a lot of feelings of guilt, shame and anxiety for not being where we think we are supposed to be in our lives.
  • Let that all go. You are enough!
  • You are beautiful, you are handsome, you are kind, you are generous, and you are exactly where you are supposed to be in life and in your healing journey in this moment.
  • Release all of your negative thoughts.
  • Be kind to yourself and love yourself.
  • πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Body: Gentle stretching exercises
  • Affirmation:
  • Action: Practice gentle stretching exercises daily.
  • When you move your body, you open up your energy channels, which is called “Qi”, or “Chi”, in Oriental Medicine. When your Qi is flowing properly throughout your body, then it relieves blockages (i.e. pain) throughout your body.
  • πŸ˜‡ Spirit: Gratitude upon awakening
  • Affirmation:
  • Action: Think of 3 things that you are grateful for as soon as you wake up in the morning, still lying in bed.
  • Start the sentence with, “I am so grateful and thankful that…”
  • e.g. I am so grateful and thankful that I slept well last night. I am so grateful and thankful for my bed.
  • The key is to think of different things that you are grateful for each time. This brings your awareness to surface level. You can be grateful for the delicious cup of herbal tea you had last night. You can be grateful that a stranger opened a door for you yesterday. You can be grateful that you are alive.
  • When you start practicing gratitude, you will start to find so many things for you to be grateful for in life, and you will naturally start to be happier.
  • Many people have reported great benefits just by incorporating gratitude into their daily lives.

  • Wednesday – 1 – First Snow :
  • Be fresh, be renewed, be enchanted.
  • Intention: I will pay attention to the magic of the first snowfall. Just as the Earth is entering another creative cycle with changing weather, I will be ready for my changes too.
  • Thursday – 2 – The Sacrament of Passing Time:
  • Be present with what you are doing rather than having your mind wander in many directions. Track the passage of time with your eyes, ears and energy. Love the moment for the blessings it bestows.
  • Intention: I will not simply look at the world as an observer. I will experience the brilliant life force emanating from everything. This allows me to appreciate the sacrament of passing time.
  • Friday – 3 – The Comfort of Hot Water Bottles:
  • Intention: I will have a hot water bottle on hand to relieve discomfort and help me relax. I will feel comforted by its heat and friendliness.
  • Saturday – 4 – Getting Cozy with Your Animal Friends:
  • Intention: I will spend quality time with animals and soak up the sustenance of their giving. Bonding with animals is a tender way to give and receive love.
  • Sunday – 5 – Melting Rigidity:
  • We must know when not to give in and when to stay firm and sure. However, the challenge is to become less rigid without compromising your integrity – and to hold space for others’ needs without sacrificing your soul.
  • The less fear you have, the less rigid you will be.
  • Intention: I will be firm but not rigid. I will be flowing but know where my limits are. I will be mindful of those times when I become rigid and unyielding so I can shift into a more fluid state.
  • Monday – 6- Aurora Borealis:
  • Intention: The splendor of the aurora’s light mirrors the light emanating from my body. I will meditate on the aurora borealis and feel that stunning radiance within myself.
  • Tuesday – 7 – Holiday Cheer :
  • Intention: I will find happiness this holiday season and be grateful for my blessings. I will make my own fun wherever I go.
  • Wednesday – 8 – Overwhelmed by Crowds:
  • Since people’s energy fields overlap when they are in close proximity, you may be vulnerable to absorbing the stress of others.
  • Eat some protein before going to crowded places to keep yourself grounded.
  • Keep breathing deeply to circulate unwanted energy out of your body and plan a few minutes to sit or meditate on benches or in the bathroom.
  • Taking periodic mini breaks to replenish yourself can help you stay more centered and less prone to being drained.
  • Intention: I will practice self-care in crowded locations to avoid feeling overloaded or taking on other people’s stress. I will not go to crowded environments unless I feel centered and ready for the task.
  • Thursday – 9 – The Universe Has a Plan:
  • You are never alone. You are always being watched over and guided in every phase of your life. You need to do your part to heal and overcome obstacles, but an invisible helping hand is always there.
  • Even when you feel lonely or depressed and can’t find a solution to whatever is blocking you, you know that the answers will come. That’s where faith comes in.
  • When you hold this all-inclusive view of your entire life, both the obstacles and periods of grace, you will profoundly connect with your own destiny.
  • Intention: I will accept that everything I encounter has a divinely inspired message to help my spirit evolve. I will have faith in my intuition and trust that I’m on the right path, whether it is smooth or rugged.
  • Friday – 10 – Longevity:
  • You can be luminous at any age when your heart stays open and pure.
  • Intention: I will appreciate the various forms of longevity in my life, including aging.
  • I will view the gratifying relationships and situations that have stood the test of time with renewed gratitude.
  • Saturday – 11 – Walking Each Other Home:
  • Ram Dass talks about how we are all just walking each other home. Each day, we continue on this inevitable journey of the spirit.
  • Our stay on Earth is transient. Beyond the time-space realm, a greater mystery awaits. Some spiritual traditions call this heaven. With intuition, you can get a sense of its light and bliss and of burdens lifting. Having felt this even once, you can also create a little more heaven on Earth, too.
  • When the time comes, we will all take the leap into the Great Beyond. No way around it. In the meantime, your beloved companions are good company here.
  • Fellow empaths are part of your family too. Value these soul friends. They will bring solace and are like-minded people to commune with on your path. With every passing moment, we get closer to the eternal. Let’s go there together as seekers who can appreciate the grandeur of it all.
  • Intention: I will walk each step home with humility and awe. I am grateful for every fellow traveler who lightens my load and with whom I share love and laughter along the way.
  • Sunday – 12 – Moon Bathing:
  • Empaths react differently to the moon’s cycles. Notice how your emotions fluctuate. The tides are regulated by the moon and our body’s physiology is responsive as well.
  • Intention: I will practice moon bathing to clear negativity and stress. I will open to the delicate beauty of moonlight and let it bring solace to my soul.
  • Monday – 13 – Stillness:
  • Stillness is a wide-open space, a place of inactivity and quietude. It is the quintessential intuitive realm.
  • When the chatter in your mind quiets and your mind and body are at rest, inspiration will come.
  • Science has shown that silence and stillness are good for your brain and that excessive noise can shorten your life span.
  • If your environment has lower levels of sensory input, then your brain can recover its cognitive clarity.
  • Spending time alone in silence allows your mind to relax and release its constant focus.
  • The noisy world can drown out creativity, but the stillness of quietude will help you make better sense of your life.
  • Intention: I know that excessive noise and activity may be overstimulating. I will plan still, nonverbal periods to allow my brain to physiologically recover from noise and information overload.
  • Tuesday – 14 – Prayer:
  • When you pray, you are calling out to the benevolence of the universe for protection, clarity, and care. By requesting assistance from a force greater than yourself, you are reaching beyond your ego and mere logic. In this humble, receptive state, your prayers will be heard.
  • But there’s no guarantee that they will be answered in the exact form you specified or hoped for. Sometimes unanswered prayers are the greatest blessings of all.
  • Prayer is an attitude of the heart. It reattunes you to hope, the way a tuning fork offers perfect pitch.
  • Rather than being more specific, pray for the highest good for yourself or others. Sometimes “good” things happen that turn out to be bad. And supposedly “bad” things happen that turn out to be good.
  • That’s why praying for the highest good allows Spirit to respond in the purest, most perfect ways. Simply become an open vessel for prayer and let the answers appear.
  • Intention: I will turn to prayer to reach out to the infinity of love. I will sincerely pray for the highest good in a situation.
  • Wednesday – 15 – Watched Over by Angels:
  • Angels are often considered messengers from Spirit and manifestations of goodness. They help us when we are in danger or need guidance.
  • Intention: I will be like a child again and, at least for now, set aside my disbelief about angels or other nonphysical kinds of spiritual aid. I will ask an angel for guidance and act on the instructions I receive.
  • Thursday – 16 – Seasonal Affective Disorder:
  • Empaths are often sensitive to changes in natural light. This makes them vulnerable to seasonal affective disorder (SAD), a type of depression that starts as the days shorten in autumn and ends in spring.
  • Symptoms include lethargy, social isolation, low motivation, difficulty concentrating, and overeating (especially carbohydrates).
  • Like clockwork, your mood changes in direct relationship to the available sunlight of a season.
  • Intention: I will give myself an extra dose of loving self-care if I experience seasonal depression. I will view this experience as a teacher for cultivating deeper self-compassion.
  • Friday – 17 – Closure:
  • When one door closes, another will open. Closure allows you to find a resolution or conclusion. It means finality; that you have accepted people or circumstances exactly as they are, and you are complete with them.
  • There is no unfinished business left unattended. No resentments. No leftover anger. Nothing more to say about an issue. You are free to go on to something new.
  • Intention: I will identify aspects of my life that require closure and take action to achieve it. This will bring completion to an issue or situation so I can move on with a clean slate.
  • Saturday – 18 – The Wisdom of Slowing Down:
  • Intention: I will practice the wisdom of slowing down. I will stop pushing and striving.
  • I will arrange periods to decrease my pace, to hibernate and safeguard my downtown for rest and reflection.
  • Sunday – 19 – Create Peace:
  • Your inner peace can ripple out to your environment and the greater world.
  • Intention: I will take responsibility for creating peace and vow to heal the parts of myself that are still at war. Peace starts from within me.
  • Monday -20 – Empathy is the Medicine the World Needs:
  • Intention: I will rise above my emotional wounds to feel empathy for others. I will keep trying to win over people with my heart rather than engaging in a confrontation.
  • πŸ˜ƒ Every Cloud has a Silver Lining – having my lipoma surgery this Wednesday means that:
  • a. I don’t have to swallow a whole bunch of natural supplements that I sometimes have difficulty in swallowing and end up choking.
  • b. I can give myself permission to relax and to just chill!
  • c. When my lipoma scar is eventually healed completely (I’ll give it 3 to 4 months for complete healing), I can finally use my electric massage bed with the rollers to roll my back muscles and feel relaxed!
  • d. I can’t stretch for at least 2 weeks. I do enjoy stretching and my full stretching routine can take up to an hour. However, it’s nice to know that I can take a break from that as well. I’ll still stretch areas that won’t pull on my scar though, e.g. arms, legs, etc. I’ll also still go to the gym and walk on the treadmill once I start to feel better.
  • e. I went and got a robot vacuum cleaner yesterday to help me vacuum. Should have done that much earlier! πŸ˜ƒ
  • Tuesday – 21 – Gifts from the Shadow:
  • In Jungian psychology, the shadow refers to the darker part of our personalities. Everyone has a shadow side. Lovingly addressing the parts of you that may be fearful, angry, or even spiteful and mean lets you tame and heal them. Affirm your courage in facing your shadow side and the progress that you made.
  • Intention: I will not be afraid of or avoid my shadow side. I will explore it and acknowledge its lessons as a way of becoming more whole.
  • Wednesday – 22 – Igniting the Light:
  • Intention: I can always rekindle my inner flame if it has grown dim. I will focus on my own light and my own strengths. I will create an abundance of light in my life.
  • Thursday – 23 Soulful Giving:
  • Intention: I will look at gift giving as a change to share love and positive energy with another person or a cause. I will give from my heart always.
  • Friday – 24 – Open to Miracles:
  • Intention: I will be ready to receive blessings from the universe. I will be open to miracles occuring in my life.
  • Saturday – 25 – The Power of Love:
  • A belief in love is unstoppable.
  • Let today represent the rebirth of love. When everything falls apart, love emerges. When sadness overtakes your heart, a glimmer of hope reappears. All is not lost.
  • Awaken the love in your heart. Don’t keep looking back. Rather, see the light and promise of your future. Begin again, always.
  • Affirm to yourself, ” I vow to love myself and spread love in the world. I AM capable of rising above my fears and insecurities. My love will not be stopped!”
  • Intention: I stand at the feet of love and bow to it. I will sing its praises and embody its precepts. Love is All There Is! πŸ’–
  • 🎁 πŸ˜ƒ 🌹 Merry Christmas!!! πŸŽ„ 🌰 🌻
  • Sunday – 26 – The Grace of Forgiveness:
  • When you forgive, you don’t change the past. You change the future.
  • Intention: I will not let myself be weighted down by resentments. I will allow the healing power of forgiveness to cleanse and renew me.
  • Monday – 27 – Life Review:
  • By taking stock of your experiences this year, you’ll gain clarity and compassion on your journey as an empath.
  • Intention: I will do a thorough life review of the past year. I don’t have to be perfect or infallible. I will learn from my mistakes and my successes so I can grow.
  • Tuesday – 28 – The Sensitive Will Inherit the Earth:
  • In the end, love will be victorious.
  • Intention: I will have faith in my empathic gifts. I will accept the responsibility of being an emissary of love and embodying the change I want to see.
  • Wednesday – All Is Well (and Getting Better in Every Dimension!):
  • Be happy with your destiny and your life. All is Well and getting better in every dimension!
  • Intention: I AM excited about what my life will bring and my ongoing learning as an empath.
  • I will focus on the brightness of my future and the surprises that lie ahead.
  • Thursday – 30 – New Year’s Dreams:
  • Intention: I will always allow myself to dream. My dreams are real. I will make them come true!
  • Friday -31 – Shine Brightly, Warrior Empath:
  • Intention: I humbly embrace of power of being sensitive. I will shine my light brightly and be a messenger of goodness!
